Is Zima, the clear malt beverage that was popular in the 90s, still available for purchase in the United States? I know it was discontinued at some point, but I’ve heard rumors of it being reintroduced periodically or being available in limited releases. Are there specific states or regions where it might be sold, perhaps as a seasonal or novelty product? And if it’s not officially sold anymore, are there any similar alternative beverages readily available that would provide a comparable taste or experience?

Answer

No, Zima is not currently available for purchase in the United States.

Zima was originally launched nationally in the United States in 1993 by the Coors Brewing Company (now Molson Coors). It was marketed as an alternative to beer and wine coolers. While initially popular, Zima’s popularity declined over the years.

Coors discontinued Zima in the United States in October 2008.

In 2017, Molson Coors briefly brought Zima back to the U.S. for a limited time, as a limited-edition summer seasonal product.

However, Zima is not currently being produced or distributed in the United States.
