How long is a JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) result valid for use in gaining admission into a higher education institution in Nigeria? I’m particularly interested in knowing if the validity period has changed in recent years, specifically within the last 5-10 years, and what factors, if any, determine the length of time a JAMB result remains acceptable for university or polytechnic admission. Also, are there any exceptions or special circumstances where an older JAMB result might be considered?

Answer

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) result is valid for one year. It is valid for the academic year in which the examination was taken. This means that a candidate can only use the result for admissions during the year the exam was written.
